NAIITS Journal Volume 15 Published!
NAIITS is pleased to announce the publication of volume 15 of the NAIITS Journal, a collection of papers from the 2017 symposium which took place at Portland Seminary.
In the 15th volume you will find conversations directly tied to and exploring the UNDRIP. These papers and the conversations that surrounded them were efforts to explore not just the content of the declaration, but what it might look like for it to be implemented and lived out in a day-to-day basis. You’ll also note in these pages that the signatories to the declaration were sometimes reluctant, even skeptical toward it. This too captures the ongoing challenge of Indigenous Peoples seeking to assert themselves as unique peoples, in unique lands, with unique histories. You can see the list of contents on the Table of Contents page
A number of transitions have taken place in relation to the journal. Our community mourned the loss of Wendy Peterson, who shepherded the journal from its inception up to volume 14. NAIITS faculty members Danny Zacharias and Kimberlee Medicine Horn Jackson have taken up the work of co-editing.
NAIITS is happy to announce that the journal is now indexed in the Atla religion index
. Atla is the premier academic index for religion and theology. The entire journal is indexed and housed through Atla, and is available through institutional subscriptions.
NAIITS is also excited to announce a new partnership with the Canadian Bible Society (CBS). CBS will now be the publisher and distributor of the NAIITS journal. Individuals can purchase hard copies or digital copies from the CBS store, and institutions can purchase their subscriptions through Ebsco subscription services
